WHAT DO YOU SAY WHEN A LITERARY AGENT ASKS YOU TO WRITE A BOOK?

In March, I was contacted by two literary agents who read my essay, What’s Your Porno Name? in The MacGuffin. They expressed their love of my work, said they were huge fans, and asked if I'd be interested in writing a book.

I SAID, YES!

I spent the majority of my early life saying no to opportunities.

I said no because I wanted everything to be exactly how I thought it should be.

I said no out of fear.

I said no because I thought I wanted something else.

What I didn’t understand is that the universe was trying to guide me and show me the way, but I kept saying no.

After my divorce, I took an improv class in New York and was taught in improv, you say YES, AND.

YES, AND keeps the flow going and allows for growth and creativity.

I learned saying no stopped the flow.

I needed to let go of control and my idea of how I thought things should be and allow my life to unfold.

So when I was asked to write a book, I said YES!

The YES was easy. The AND is the hard part. The AND is me sitting down every morning to write for three to four hours no matter what.

Writing is not an easy job; like almost everything in life, there are no guarantees, but I love a challenge.

I discovered as a writer, I also need a writer’s platform, so I built a website, and I’d love for you to check it out.

I’ll also be writing a monthly blog and sending that out. I'm hoping you’ll join me on this journey. I'm learning as I go, so I'm sure I'll make mistakes.

Who knows what the future holds, but I’ll keep saying YES, AND!

Wishing you the best always, and thanks so much for your support.

YES, AND!
